Media mogul, Simon Cowell, will be launching the first-ever global talent competition using YouTube. Partnering up with his company Syco, YouTube can look forward to a busy few months and an online marketing campaign mere mortals will be envious of! blogAllowing users to upload a video to 'The You Generation' channel, YouTubers will be able to show off their talents, whether it's singing, cooking, dancing or stand-up comedy! Launching in 26 countries on Wednesday 20th March, the competition will run for 52 weeks. According to YouTube, "every submission will be judged by Syco executives and experts in the relevant field" with finalists being chosen every 2 weeks and the winner announced on the second Friday of each contest. The winners will receive a cash prize which has of yet been unconfirmed and of course, win global recognition. Winners from each contest will then go on to compete against one another for a secret grand prize. A clever move on behalf of Simon Cowell, the competition is sure to expand YouTube's already huge collection of videos and securely mark their position as the number one video sharing site on the web.
